Sierra Leone solar lights

Our sponsored school students receive their solar lights so that they can study at home in the evenings

Very few of the children we sponsor to go to secondary school have electricity at home. But they want to study in the evenings and so end up using candles or oil lamps or holding battery torches which quickly fade. Some go and study in the street if they are lucky enough to have street lights nearby. Now we are equipping them all with solar lights. These are delivered to them by our volunteers. They charge up during the day whilst the students are at school and then give at least four hours of bright light in the evening. Each lights costs about £35.
