Trustees of the charity offered washable sanitary pads to our sponsored girl students

Trustees of the charity have decided to offer washable sanitary pads to all our sponsored girl students.

Our girls cannot afford to buy disposable sanitary pads in Sierra Leone. They often lose days at school each month as a consequence. The pads are made in Sierra Leone by a social enterprise called Uman Tok (means ‘Woman Talk’ in Krio).

We trialled the pads on the Island of Shabro where 70% of the girls who used them welcomed them. It will cost us £1600 to give sets of pads to the girls we sponsor.

They will last two years. Would you like to support these girls?
