Dear Supporter,
It’s back to school in Sierra Leone and for 30 newly selected boys and girls aged 10 to 13 their sponsorship by our charity begins. Each child had a very high score in the final National Primary School Exams and comes from a poor home - often a single mum scraping a living as a petty trader.
We will now sponsor them through the three years of Junior Secondary School. If they do well we will continue to support them for the three years of Senior School. And then if they gain admission to university or college we will pay their fees until they graduate. In a small way we are stopping wastage of talent and helping to build a skilled workforce in a very poor country.
Sponsorship now includes a solar light for every child to enable home studying and for our girls two sets of washable sanitary pads. We also give every child a small phone so that they can contact the volunteers who monitor them.

Our volunteers continue to search villages for children who cannot walk. Here is Abu found by volunteer Patrick with his new wheelchair. A wheelchair means that Abu can now go to school.
