We have supported Alie Turay through secondary school since he was a young boy. Now he has completed his A levels (the West African exams are called WASSCE). He got the best marks in his school and received this award last week. We are very proud of Alie. He now qualifies to go to University and one of our wonderful donors has already agreed to sponsor him.
Alie has had a challenging life at home. His father suffered a major stroke when he was little and Alie and his siblings have relied on the small income his mother earns as a government nurse. Our donors have enabled Alie to go to school and use a complete set of the best textbooks which he said 'Made all the difference to my performance'. But this is Alie's achievement and we celebrate it with him today.
